MAN'S SKULL FRACTURED IN FIGHT, 4 OTHERS HURT
Jesse F. McKee, a machine operator, suffered a fractured skull when he was struck with a baseball bat in a fight Thursday evening in front of his home, 1117 Chambers street. He was taken to City Hospital.
Four other persons were injured in the fight. Mr. McKee's wife, Elsie, 51 years old, and their son John, 26, a steel worker, suffered contusions of the head. Albert Shannon, a bricklayer, of 1117A (rear) Chambers street, and Walter Crosby, a laborer, 3971A Westminster place, suffered minor injuries.
John McKee told police his father, 59 years old, was struck by Berle Brown, a cement finisher, living in the 6200 block of Graham road, Berkeley. The fight started he said, when his wife, Ruby, got into a quarrel with Mrs. Shannon over what police described as "general indignities." All participants will appear in police court on peace disturbance charges.
