Mrs. Lorena Baker
Mrs. Lorena Baker, one of the Pioneer residents of the town of Pine Grove, passed away at the home of Albert Ostrander, Saturday, January 24, 1914, aged 82 years, 9 months and 11 days, her death being mainly to old age. Funeral services were held Tuesday and the remains laid to their last rest in the Plainfield Cemetery beside those of her deceased husband. Rev. F.C. Rhanstock speaking words of comfort to the bereaved ones.
Lorena Chapel was born in Pennsylvania, April 13, 1832 and in 1851 she was united in marriage to Jefferson Ellis. In 1862 they moved to Wisconsin. In 1883 Mr. Ellis passed away. Later she was married to John W. Baker, who died in 1910.
She was the mother of five children, three of whom still survive: Mrs. Ella Ostrander, of Pine Grove, Mrs. Sarah Crandall of Kenosha, and John Ellis of Oshkosh.
The deceased was a good christian woman, a good mother and kind friend and will be greatly missed from the home in which she so long lived.
