Mrs. Mattie Frances Thomas Kilgore, age 68, died Friday, October 16 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Funeral services were held Sunday, October 18 at Houston Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Macedonia Cemetery with the Rev. Tommy Kelly officiating.

The daughter of the late John Thomas and the late Polly Whitted, she was a housewife. She was a lifelong resident of Chickasaw County.

Survivors include her husband, Harce Kilgore of Houston; six daughters, Laverne Wortham of Brooksville, Florida, Maylene Gordon of Woodland and Geneva Mooneyham, Betty Sue King, Barbara Dendy and Pam Weaver, all of Houston; six sons, Harce Kilgore, Jr., John Robert Kilgore, Dennis Kilgore and Billy Kilgore, all of Houston, David Kilgore of Nockee, Florida and Warren Kilgore of Calhoun City; one sister, Mrs. Cora Nabors of Houston; 52 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Tommy Kilgore, Billy Wayne Shields, Raymond Cole, Bubba Wortham, Doyle Booth, Jr. and Scott Kilgore.

Houston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
