Born Dec. 21, 1919, in Marcella, she was the daughter of Hubert and Ruth Doyle Bangs of Marcella. She was a homemaker and was retired from McDonnell-Douglas. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a son, Robert Fortune of Marcella; a daughter, Janice Cane of Cerritos, Calif.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four brothers, Paul Bangs of Desha, Elmer Gene Bangs of Marcella, Billy Joe Bangs of Morrilton and Jimmy Bangs of Batesville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Charles Fortune; her parents; and two sisters, Esther King and Avis Hall.
The funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday at Roller Coffman Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View with John High officiating.
