MARCELLA - Hester Bangs King, 82, of Marcella died Friday, Aug. 27, 2004, in a Batesville hospital.

Born Nov. 12, 1921, in Marcella, she was the daughter of Hubert and Ruth Doyle Bangs. She was a homemaker and a member of the Marcella Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sons, Chester King and Johnny King, both of Marcella; a daughter, Betty Vickers of Marcella; four brothers, Pete Bangs of Desha, Gene Bangs of Marcella, Billy Joe Bangs of Almond and Jimmy Bangs of Batesville; a sister, Broncho Fortune of Cypress, Calif.; six grandchildren, Brenda Carr, Rita Roper, Bryan King, Kim Stewart, Crystal Hall and Penny Price; two stepgrandchildren, Dennis Paddleford and Chris Paddleford; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rufus King; a sister, Avis Hall; and a grandchild, James Edward Vickers.

The funeral was at 2 p.m. today at the Marcella Church of Christ with Dennis Dickey officiating, assisted by Jason Darden. Burial was in York Cemetery at Marcella under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.

Pallbearers were Bryan King, Dillon Williams, Brent Carr, Don Roper, Galen Hall and Howard Stewart.

Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Brad Baltz and Dr. Ron Bates.
