Jack was born Feb. 5, 1937, in Exeter, Mo., to Edmon and Mamie (Cassity) Brattin. He married Donna Goforth on July 27, 1957, in Petaluma, California.
He graduated from high school at Petaluma High School in Petaluma, California, where he excelled in basketball and played in the all stars.
Jack managed grocery stores in California, Oregon and Washington since the age of 21. Jack moved his family to Monmouth, Oregon in September of 1969.
He enjoyed fishing, playing golf, animal rescue and caring for unusual pets which included his pet skunk "sqeaks".
Jack and Donna had three daughters, Janet Brattin of Salem and Leslie Stinger of Florence, Sandra Re of Eugene, and a son, Steven Brattin of Salem, Oregon. Jack also leaves behind a sister, Anna Mae Mohrman of Petaluma, California and 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Survivors include three daughters, Sandra Re of Eugene, Janet Brattin of Salem and Leslie Stinger of Florence; a son, Steven Brattin of Salem; a sister, Anna Mae Mohrman of Petaluma, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and six great grand children.
