Blankenship, Billy "Bill"
Billy "Bill" Blankenship, 70, of Floyd passed away Dec. 13, 2009 at his residence.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Jay Sikes officiating.
Interment will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Caddo Mills.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Blankenship was born April 12, 1939, in Collin County to Wise Murphy and Rosa Skaggs Blankenship.
On March 7, 1956, he married Joy Chapman in Oklahoma.
His survivors include his wife of Floyd; a son, Steve Blankenship and wife Debbie of Merit; brother Elice Blankenship and wife Wanda; sisters Helen Dodd, Mildred Sierra and husband Ernie, Linda Haney and husband Phil, Geraldean "Jerri" Smith and husband Dennis, Ruby Smith and husband Lloyd and Beulah Jenkins; grandchildren Suzette Smith and Chad, Troy, Billy and Cody Blankenship; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Raymond Dale Blankenship, great-grandchild Chasta Blankenship and brother Elmer Blankenship.
