Funeral service for Loyd "Bear" Maclin, 86, was held December 5, 2000 at 2 p.m. at Riley Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Delbert Lamb and Brother Troy Richardson officiating.

Burial followed at Magnolia Cemetery in Woodville, Texas.

Mr. Maclin was born October 2, 1914 in Colmesneil, Texas. He was a lifelong resident of Tyler County, and was retired from the maintenance department of the Texas Highway Department with 42 years of service, and he was a deacon of Dogwood Hills Baptist Church in Woodville.

He is survived by his daughters, Lynda Bonsall of Bridge City, Barbara Hatcher of Woodville and Rose Byars of Houston; sons, James Loyd Maclin of Dalvell, South Carolina, Tommy Maclin of Alamogordo, New Mexico and Charles Maclin of Woodville; sister, Ineda Woods of Nederland; fifteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Bryan Maclin, Robert Loyd Hatcher, Weldon Leonard, Otis Reynolds, Chester J. Cartwright and Alva Cook. Honorary pallbearers were deacons of Dogwood Hills Baptist Church.

Services were under the direction of Riley Funeral Home of Tyler County.
