Mrs. Thornton Porter,
Hennepin Pioneer, Dies
Mrs. Nancy Porter, 46, full blood Indian who had lived near Hennepin most of her life, died at 2 a.m. Wednesday in a Shawnee hospital where she had been for several weeks.
Funeral services will be held at Hennepin Friday at 3 p.m.
Survivors are her husband, Thornton Porter; five children – two in the army at Fort Sill, two in Carter seminary at Ardmore, and a small child in the Sockey home; also three sisters, Mrs. Delia Cooper, Mrs. Ned Sockey and Mrs. Frenchman; and three brothers, George, Joe and Amos Sams, all of Hennepin.
