Charles Barnett
Charles W. Barnett, 88, of 760 S. Sixth Ave., died at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday (May 19, 1993) at Graham Hospital.
Born Sept. 18, 1904 in Canton, the son of Charles and Emma (Hoggett) Barnett, he married Nellie M. Werry on Aug. 11, 1933, in Canton. She survives.
Survivors include seven sons, Gerald Barnett of Mapleton, Charles Barnett of Cuba, Harold Barnett of Indianapolis, Paul Barnett of Somonauk, Ill., and Donald, Raymond and Mark Barnett all of Canton: One daughter, Estelle Simpson of Canton; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
He ws preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was employed at International Harvester, retiring with 30 years service in February 1966. He was a member of the East Side Church of the Nazarene. He was a Big Creek Park Patrolman for four years.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Murphy Sedgwick Memorial Home, the rev. Ralph Hill officiating. Visitation will be noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the memorial home. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
