GLEN ROCK – Luke E. Shearer, 80, of Glen Rock RD 2, a former farmer, died Friday, December 10, 1982, at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Mabel Bechtel Shearer.
The service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Geiple Funeral Home, 53 Main St. Burial will be in Jefferson Cemetery. Viewing will be 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.
Born in Codorus Township, son of the late Elmer and Jane (Shue) Shearer, he was a farmer. He retired in 1968 from Consolidated Freight Co., York. He was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church and Sunday School, Jefferson, and of the Jefferson Fire Company.
Mr. Shearer is survived by three children, Mrs. Melvin Krebs, Glen Rock RD 2; Elmer Shearer, Spring Grove RD 2, and Mrs. Rafael Bruno, 145 N. Penn St.; nine grandchildren, a great-grandson; a step-grandson; a sister, Mary Rohrbaugh, Seven Valleys RD 1, and a brother, Wilson Shearer, Codorus.
Officiating will be his pastor, the Rev. C. Richard Beach, assisted by the Rev. Donald Mummert.
