SERVICES HELD FOR CECILIA THOMAZIN
Cecilia Thomazin was born August 15, 1916 at St. Edward, Nebraska to James and Mary (Kealy) Cahill and died Friday, January 27, 1995 at her home in Shelby, Nebraska. She was 78 years old.
She attended Nance County District 47 School and graduated from St. Ursulius High School in York in 1932. On August 5, 1946 she married Glenn Thomazin at St. Edward. They lived in Nance County until 1963. They then farmed in Polk County until 1981 when they moved to Shelby.
A housewife, she also belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary, Sacred Heart Catholic Church and St. Ann's Guild, all in Shelby.
Survivors include three sons, James of St. Edward, Patrick of Lincoln and Nicholas of Gresham; one daughter, Joan Steinmann of Lincoln; two brothers, Leo Cahill of St. Edward and John Cahill of Santa Maria, California; two sisters, Ellen Cahill of Columbus and Agnes Clark of Fremont; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and two sisters.
Services were at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 31, 1995, from St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Osceola with Rev. John Coperhaven and Rev. Maurice Curren co-officiating. Her grandson, David Thomazin, served Mass as altar boy.
Pallbearers were Jamie thomazin, Jim Beeck, Clem Sliva, Bob Clark, Kent Cahill and Jerry Cahill. Burial was at Sacred Heart Cemetery at Shelby.
