Bertha Applee Adams, age 76 of Morristown, Tennessee, formerly of Asheville, NC passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at her home.
Ms. Adams was a native of Cherokee County; she was the daughter of the late Callie Elliott Adams Kilby. Bertha was a member of the First Baptist Church of Murphy for 13 years where she was active in Childrens Bus Ministry from 1972-1975 and a member of Oteen Baptist Church for 20 years where she was a teacher to the Senior Citizens class for 10 years. She had managed five departments in Sky City Dept. Store in Oteen, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Major Lee Adams who died December 14, 2004; a daughter-in-law Stephanie Adams; and a grandson, Jonathan Adams.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy, NC. The Rev. Warren Elliott will officiate. Burial will be in the Grape Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Murphy, NC. Pallbearers will be Randy Curtis, Randy Young, Charles Young, Harold Garrett, Danny Simmons and Scotty Stiles. Honorary pallbearers will be Junior Garrett.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy, NC.
