William French suffered a paralytic stroke last Tuesday night and never regained consciousness, death resulting at 11:50 Wednesday night. The funeral was held at the farm home between Kennard and Arlington Sunday afternoon, Rev. Jos. Stopford, of Arlington, officiating. Mr. French was born in Fillmore County, Minn., June 21st, 1862, and was, therefore, not yet 59 years of age. He came to this county with his parents when a lad of 6 years and grew to manhood here. He was married to Maud Reid thirty years ago, who survives him, with one daughter, Mrs. John Murphy, who lives south of Blair, and three sons, Wm. Allison, Fred C. and Chas. R., all of near Kennard. He leaves two brothers, Clarence, of Otis, Colo., Chas., of Arlington, and Mrs. Wm. Craven, of Osmond, Neb. Mr. French was always a good son, husband and father and therefore was a good citizen. His sudden death in the very prime of life is a severe blow to friends and relatives alike. The bereaved family have the sincere sympathy of many friends.
