Darlene Sophia Witt, 81, of Pearce, Ariz. passed away at Tucson Medical Center on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008.
Darlene was born on Jan. 10, 1927 in Cheboygan, Mich. to the late Ruben Bonnett and the late Ethel Sneider. She was raised and educated in Cheboygan. Darlene met Edmund Witt while in nurse's training, and they married on Nov. 17, 1946 in Chicago, Ill. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, painting Ukrainian eggs, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Edmund of Pearce; her children, Sandra, Pamela, Linda, Steven, Debra and Patrick. She was the proud grandmother to Kelly, Matt, Leeann, Natalie, Shaun and Jennifer. Her great-grandchildren include Levi, Garrett, Treton, Nathan and Darius. She is preceded in death by not only her parents, but by a granddaughter, Tricia.
As per her wishes, she will be cremated and memorial service will be held at Hatfield Memorial Chapel on Friday, Dec. 5, at noon. Interment will follow at the Southern Arizona Veterans' Memorial Cemetery. Assisting the family is Hatfield Funeral Home."
