Cedar Valley Times, Monday, 9/19/1983—Shellsburg—William Ivan (Mike) Maynard, 80, of rural Shellsburg, died Sunday, Sept. 18 at Virginia Gay Hospital after a short illness.
Services will be Wed., Sept. 21, at 2 p.m .at the Campbell-Russell Funeral Home in Vinton, with the Rev. Daniel J. Davis officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton.
Friends may call at the Campbell-Russell Funeral Home after 11 a.m. Tuesday.
Mr. Maynard was born Aug. 27, 1903 to Spencer and Lura (Robbins) Maynard. On April 11, 1925, he married Maude Noeller.
He was a farmer and a Benton Township Trustee.
Survivors include his wife, Maude; three sons, Bill of Ft. Atkinson, WI, Max of Vinton and Owen of Shellsburg; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one sister, Helen Dowler of Vinton.
He was preceded in death by a daughter and a sister.
