Edward was the youngest of nine children born to George Anderson Sr. and Cynthia Jane (Norman) Boatright. He married Bertha J. Basinger about 1917 and they had three children: Mary Lucile, James Edward and Helen Elizabeth.

SPRINGERTON - Edward Boatright, 77, a retired farmer, died at 3:45 a.m. Saturday at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Ill.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Church with burial in Lindale Memorial Gardens in Eldorado.
Surviving are his wife, Bertha; a son, James of Peoria; two daughters, Mrs. Lucille Pearson, of Bartonville, and Mrs. Helen Garrett, of Enfield; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Friends may call afternoon Sunday at Elledge Funeral Home where the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday.
