Long Ill, Dies
SHENANDOAH, Aug. 31—Mrs. Hettle Dadisman Grubbs, 87, one of this community's oldest and most beloved citizens died at her home here this morning at eight o'clock following a lingering illness.
She was born May 20, 1868, at Alma a daughter of the late John Wesley and Sarah Estes Dadisman, She was the surviving
member of a family of eight children.
In 1892, she married John W. Grubbs, who preceded her in death in 1944. She is survived by eight children: Basil A., Earl L. and Leonard H. Grubbs. all of Roanoke; Dr. Ray Grubbs of Christiansburg: Roy L. Grubbs of Petersburg; Mrs. C. C. (Leone) Huffman and Miss Mamie Grubbs, of Shenandoah; Mrs. Grant (Ula) Ried of Wilmington, Del. She also leaves ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She was an active member of the Fields Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Warren G. Kyger funeral home here Friday afternoon at three o'clock. Her pastor, the Rev. I. L. Llewellyn, will have charge and burial will be in the Methodist cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: John Thomas, W. H. Orye, Everett Taylor, Jennings Meadows, O. M. Stickler, Sr., and Clyde Hisey, Sr.
Pallbearers are asked to meet at the funeral home Friday afternoon at 2:45. The immediate family will meet at her late home to leave for the funeral.
