Elsie Kelley Roberts 80, passed away early Wednesday morning, December 2, 2009, in Houston, TX.
She was born March 1, 1929 and was a lifelong resident of Cameron, LA and a member of the Wakefield United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Thelma Hacket 225 OES Eastern Star. She worked for South Cameron Hospital for thirty years before retiring then continued to work for the Cameron Parish Coroner's Office. Anyone who knew Elsie could testify that she was very outspoken and she left a lasting impression with everyone that knew her. She lived for her family and they were the most important thing in her life. She always put others needs before her own and was an extraordinary women.
She is preceded in death by her husband O'Neil Roberts, daughter Kerry Lynn Roberts, brothers Donald Kelley, Gary Kelley, Edwin Kelley, and Floyd Kelley. She is survived by her son Robin O'Neil Roberts and wife Anne Roberts, daughters Kim Roberts Repp and Kelley Dee Roberts, one brother George Kelley and wife Marie Kelley. Her grandchildren Christopher O'Neil Savioe, Kelley O'Neil and Lauren Roberts, Summer and Kristen Repp, Brittany and Shelby Roy, Brendan and Padraic O'Neil Iler. Her great-grandchildren Brycen, Anna, and Harrison O'Neil Savoie, Brynlee Boudreaux, Devon Heflin, Bryce Iler, Dax Broussard, Libby Baccigalopi, and Perrish O'Neil Roberts. People that were close to her heart were her sister in-laws Margie Kelley, Gloria Kelley and Ruby Kelley. Elsie Kelley Roberts was a wonderful woman that will be missed by many.
Her funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Wakefield Methodist Church in Cameron. Rev. James Moore and Rev. Barry Kelley will officiate. Burial will be in Kelley Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Friday 2-9 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. til time of service. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com
