Betty Kay McKnight, 56, of Caruthersville, died Nov. 21, 2009.
She was born Oct. 28, 1953 at Cottonwood Point, MO to James W. Russell and Charity Acree Cheshire.
Betty attended school at McCarty. She was employed as a homemaker for the Visiting Nurses Association before her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Russell and Charity Acree Cheshire; sisters, Montia Rose Portwood, Mary Ruth Russell; a brother, James Thomas Russell; and her husband, Jim McKnight.
She leaves her son, Anthony Jason Long of Caruthersville; one sister, Sally Corder of Sikeston, MO; one brother, Tim Stuart of Sikeston, MO; one grandson, Anthony Thomas Rushing of Caruthersville; one granddaughter, Lilyann Sadie Freeman of Scott County, MO; and a close friend, James Portwood.
Funeral Services were held Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009 in the H.S.Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville with Brother Ralph Amerson officiating. Burial was held in the Maple Cemetery in Caruthersville.
