Agnes Blanche Monger, 77, a resident of the North Plains community died Saturday evening, November 28, 2009 at her home.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be said at 7:00 PM on Friday, December 4, 2009 at the St Edward Catholic Church; 10990 NW 313th Ave in North Plains.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at the St Edward Catholic Church in North Plains.

Rite of Christian Burial and Vault interment will take place following the Mass to be held at the St Edward Cemetery in North Plains.

Family and Friends are invited to a reception following the committal service to be held at the Jesse Mays Community Center, 30955 NW Hillcrest in North Plains.

Agnes was born on April 29, 1932 in Culver City, CA. She was the oldest of six children born to Edmund and Agnes B. (Beringhele) Goodman. She was raised on her grandparent's farm in Culver City and received her education at Hamilton High School; Class of 1949. Following high school Agnes worked as a dental hygienist in Culver City; through this employment she met her husband Leon Monger.

Agnes was united in marriage to Leon Monger on February 14, 1953 in Culver City, CA. in a double wedding with her sister, Regina. Following their marriage they made their home in Southern California. Then they moved to Paradise, CA were they lived until Leon's death in 1990. Agnes then moved in 2000 to Beaverton, OR to be closer to her children. In 2005 she moved to North Plains.

Agnes was first and foremost a mom and grandma. She worked primarily in the Health Care field. Agnes was also part owner and operator of the" Yogurt Delight" with her husband Leon in Paradise, CA. Agnes "retired" in 1990; however, was very active in her Roman Catholic faith and her family as well, having a special devotion to Our Lady and the Rosary. She enjoyed family gatherings; she was a published poet and enjoyed crafts and fine painting. Agnes was the matriarch of her family; she baked goods for churches over the years and loved all of God's creatures.

She is preceded in death by her spouse, Leon, her daughter; Theresa Lusk and her parents.

Survivors include her four children and their spouses; Patty and James Dillon of North Plains, OR, Villa Kidder of North Plains, OR, Chris and Gail Monger of Rozet, WY, Tina Monger and Manuel Lopez both of Otis, OR, four sisters, one brother, 18 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

The family suggests donations in Agnes' name to St. Edward Catholic Church, North Plains, OR.
