The Douglas County Herald, (Ava, Missouri), Thu. 14 Oct. 1982, Page-3, Services Held Saturday For Virginia Horner, Funeral services for Virginia M. Horner, 73, of Ava, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Clinkingbeard Chapel with the Rev. John Haskins officiating. Burial was in Union Grove Cemetery. A resident of Ava for 20 years having moved from the Mound community. Mrs. Horner died at 12:23, Oct. 7, at Cox Medical Center, following a long illness. Mrs. Horner was a Chrisitan. Born, June 25, 1909 in Christian County, Virginia. Horner was the daughter of David C. Adams and Ida Hughes. She married Emmett Horner, Nov. 6, 1927, at Cross Roads. He preceded her in death. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Lorene Heinlein, Ava, one grandson, Mike Heinlein, Ava, two sisters, Mrs. Inda Boston, Ava, and Mrs. Ollie Anderson, Springfield, and several nieces and nephews.
