Daniel L. Sharp, 73, Neosho, passed away Monday, Feb. 26, 2007 at his home, following a 3 ½ year battle with cancer. Dan was born June 24, 1933 in Neosho, the son of Daniel L. and Bessie (Adkins) Sharp. He graduated from Midway High School in 1951 and was a lifelong area resident. Dan served his country as the Administrative Officer at the Missouri Army National Guard Armory in Neosho for 31 years. He retired from the military in 1993 at the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 4, following 40 years of military service. He accepted an assignment at the Military Academy in Jefferson City, MO before returning to Neosho to serve at Ft. Crowder until May of 2003 as a civilian. He became a Christian on January 5, 1964 and served in various capacities at the First Christian Church of Neosho and recently had attended the Rocketdyne Road Church of Christ in Neosho. He was also honored to participate in the Relay for Life the past two years. Dan married his classmate and sweetheart, Martha Elizabeth Rice on March 15, 1952 in Reno, NV and she survives. Additional survivors include three children, son, Larry Sharp and wife, Sherry, Bloomington, IL; daughter, Linda Niebur and husband, David, Kearney, MO and son, David Sharp, Neosho; his beloved grandchildren, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren, Lindsay Elizabeth Sharp, Bryan Daniel Sharp and Courtney Leigh Sharp, Bloomington, IL; Victoria (Torre) Lynne Sharp and Zachary David Sharp, Neosho; Brian and Jill Niebur and Stacy Altonen, Champlin, MN; Ryan and Stephanie Niebur, Cody and Riley Altonen, Champlin, MN; one brother, Rex Sharp, Saginaw, MI and two sisters, Velta Smith, Sacramento, CA and Barbara Moore, Springdale, AR. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence and Leon Sharp.
