Donald G. Barnhart, 69, Kansas City, died Sept. 11, 2001, in Kansas City. He was born Dec. 22, 1931, in Bowen, a son of Mark T. and Florence M. Crider Barnhart. He was married June 6, 1953, in Harrison Ark., to Dixie Burks, who survives in Kansas City.
He was employed as a truck driver, retiring from Overnight Transportation, Kansas City, Kan., in 1994
Other survivors include: four sons, Steve Barnhart, Edwardsville, Kan., and Dale Barnhart, Tony Barnhart and Don Barnhart Jr., all of Kansas City; one daughter, Cindy May, Gladstone; six brothers, Leo Barnhart, Larry Barnhart, Ed Barnhart and Iva Barnhart, all of Eldon, Ray Barnhart, Pacific, and Mark Barnhart, Tuscumbia; two sisters, Rosalie Hendry, Wappappelo, and Etta Barnhouse, Eldon; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Tuscumbia. The Rev. Gene Edwards will officiate. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. Memorials are suggested to Northcare Hospice of Kansas City.
