Mrs. Catherine bowser, 93 years old, died this morning at 8:15 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Catherine(sic) McKinney, 1082 South Cedar street. Death is attributed to old age. The end came peacefully. Two of her
daughters were at her bedside when she died. Mrs. Bowser spent many years of her remarkably long life in Galesburg. She was born in Armstrong Co., Pa., on October 15, 1821. On May 7, 1844 she was married to John Bowser in her home neighborhood. He died June 9, 1875, leaving 10 children behind him with the mother, but three of whom are now living. They are J.D.Bower of Charleston , Ill., John Bowser of Moline and Mrs. Rachel McKinney of Galesburg. Mrs. Bowser was the grandmother of seventeen children. She had thirty-five great grandchildren. She leaves one sister, Mrs. Jane Coraman of Winterset, Iowa. At her bedside when she was taken ill were one daughter, Mrs. McKinney, and a granddaughter, Mrs. Bettie Berger and Mrs. J.S. Elser of Augusta, Ill. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the house at 1082 South Cedar street, the Rev. L.F. Dimmit officiating. Interment will be in Linwood cemetery
