Services for Gwendol (G. H.) Barham were held 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, from Clarke Venable Baptist Church. Dr. Richard Ethridge and the Rev. Mark Vincent officiated. Burial was in the Newton County Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Milling Funeral Home of Union in charge of arrangements.

Visitation was Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, from 5 to 8 p.m. in Milling Funeral Home of Union.

Mr. Barham, 87, of Union died Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, in Jeff Anderson Medical Center.

He was in the Air Force and a Marine. He served 20 years in the military service.

Mr. Barham was preceded in death by his wife, Corinne Kirby Barham, and his parents, Herbert and Lokie Barham.

Survivors include three daughters, Linda Barham of Philadelphia, Michael Galloway of Union and Tammy Barham Rich of Decatur; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; and one sister, Christine Reid.
