Thomas Didimus Comer, 82, died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at his home near Stuarts Draft.
He was born Jan. 3, 1867 in Abington son of the late George W. and Catherine Barker Comer. He was a carpenter and was a member of the Methodist Church and the IOOF of Norton.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Florence Slemp Comer; three sons, L. H., Daly City, Cal.; Robert and Teddy, both of Waynesboro; four daughters, Mrs. June Powell, Monterey, Cal.; Mrs. Robert Scott, San Lorenzo, Cal.; Mrs. Lula Jennings, Lincoln, Nebr.; and Mrs. Charles K. Baylor, Staunton; several grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral procession left the Etter Funeral Home at 1:45 p.m. today. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today at the Calvary Methodist Church, Stuarts Draft, conducted by the Rev. Wrightson S. Tongue. Interment was to be in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers were: Lloyd Gayhart, Stuart Koiner, Robert Boyd, Cecil Madison, and Melvin Eavers.
Honorary pallbearers were: R. A. Blacka, Jayson Weaver, John McMullin, L. Brown Deputy, Enis Hailey, and Ward L. Cohron.
