James Theodore "Ted" Comer Sr., 79, of 2018 Lyndhurst Road, died Thursday morning (Dec. 12, 1991) in Waynesboro Community Hospital. He was born March 18, 1912, in Norton, a son of Thomas D. and Florence Alice Slemp Comer.
Mr. Comer was retired from Crompton.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Comer; five daughters, Mrs. Floyd (Bea) Snow of Crozet, Mrs. David (Linda) Kirkpatrick of Lyndhurst, and Norma J. Comer, Carolyn Comer and Mrs. Barry (Judy) Bowman, all of Waynesboro; one son, Donnie Comer of Waynesboro; one sister, Lena Baylor of Staunton; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Comer was preceded in death by a son, James T. Comer Jr.; a brother, Robert Comer; and by a sister, Alice Scott.
A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Stuarts Draft chapel of Etter Funeral Home by the Rev. William Strickler.Burial will be in Calvary United Methodist Church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Homer Hite, Michael Noe, D. J. McCauley, Roy Hewitt and Wayne Clark.
Honorary pallbearers will be George Cromer and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
