Hans was the son of Mr and Mrs A H Thoen. His family came to America in 1868 and settled in Wisconsin. His parents remained in Centerville, WI until their deaths. Hans had moved to Taylors Falls in the early 1880's.
He operated his own general mercantile business in TF from about 1884 until his retirement in March of 1918. He married Nannie Ulrika Lagerwall in Taylors Falls on 5-May-1885.
His obituary appeares in the Taylors Falls Journal of Thursday, February 6, 1936.
