DIED--In this city Friday April 12th, Robert James Aikins, aged 66 years, after an illness of several months duration. The funeral services were conducted at the M. E. church Sunday morning by Re. J. S. Ford. Robert James Aikins was born in Morgan Co., Ohio, 1928 [sic]. He was married in 1859. He moved to Kansas in 1878 where he resided up to the time of his death. Mr. Aikins was well known by nearly everybody in the community and was highly esteemed by all. He united with the M.E. church in 1847 and was a true follower of Christ and passed to to other side for his reward happy in that faith. He leaves an aged widow, two sons and many other relatives to mourn his death.
