She was a member of the Baptist Church for 65 years, joining the North Baptist church in May, 1904. Her and her husband Edward farmed in the Marlin area until they retired in 1949. She was preceded in death by daughter, Alice Kehrer, whose son Elton Edward "Nubby" Kehrer was raised by Tonia and Edward.
