Odessa Record - September 21, 1961

Funeral services for Conrad Stroh, Sr, 91, were held from Christ Lutheran Church on Monday afternoon. Pastor Werner J. Fritz officiated and burial was in the Odessa Cemetery under the direction of the Strate Funeral Home. Acting as pallbearers were Dan Gettman, Fred Gettman, Ralph Heimbigner, George Gies, William Schillinger and Sam Braun. Music was by a quartet including Lotte Hemmerling, Martha Bartalamay, Dorothy Gies and Freda Braun. In 1890 he married Miss Anna Marie Seal in Russia and came to America in 1893. After four years at Seattle they moved to Odessa in 1897. The two have had 71 years of married life together. Born in Frank, Russia, Nov 27, 1869, Mr. Stroh and his wife, Anna Marie, were early settlers of the Odessa area, farming southeast of town. They had retired several years ago to a home in town. About two years ago failing health caused Mr. Stroh to enter the River Crest nursing home, where death came. Survivors include his widow, Anna Marie, and one son, Conrad Stroh, Jr. six grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
