Mrs. Catherine Getz, widow of Peter Getz, life-long resident of Monroe county, died at 1:30 this morning at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mrs. and Mrs. Albert Altemose, 126 Chestnut avenue, Nazareth, where she had been visiting since Thanksgiving.
Mrs. Getz, aged 67, who resided near Effort, had been in failing health for the past four years. Her husband died four and a half years ago.
Deceased was born in Tobyhanna township, a daughter of the late Amos and Amelia Bonser Keiper.
She is survived by five daughters and one son, Anna, wife of Edwin Keenhold, of East Lawn; Mrs. Ellen Wagner, Delabole; Mazie, wife of Edgar Altemose, Pocono Lake; Ada, wife of Albert Altemose; Ruth, wife of John Meixell, and Arthur Getz, all of Nazareth; 20 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; six brothers and three sisters, George Keiper, Albrightsville; James Keiper, Dallas; Theodore and Edward Keiper, Pine Ridge; Benjamin Keiper, Allentown; Emanuel Keiper, Tobyhanna; Mrs. Adam Gower, of Hickory Ridge; Mrs. Peter George, Slatington, and Mrs. Frank Feller, of Effort.
Catherine was buried in Hillside Cemetery, Effort, by the M.C. Schmidt Funeral Home of Wind Gap. (PA death certificate #11059)
