Johannes "John" Schaffer was the son of Johan Michael Schaffer and Maria Appolonia Brosius.

He married Margaretha Elizabeth Schneider abt 1794 in Northumberland Co., PA.

John and his wife, Margaretha, both died from Typhoid Fever near present-day Mayport in Redbank Twp., Clarion Co., PA. They were buried on their farm.

"Ephriam Coleman, was born in Ringgold Township Jefferson County, August 24, 1859. Died April 22, 1954, aged 94 years, 7 months, 29 days. Buried Grandview Cemetery, April 26, 1954. His father was Solomon Coleman. ( the mother was Lucetta Minich) .

"Sarah Magdalena Shaffer, born December 3, 1859, Red Bank Township, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania. Father Christopher Shaffer, Mother Maggie DeLancy': ( this is not correct it should be Christian Shaffer and Magdalena Ferringer) "married to Ephriam Coleman. Died December 28, 1943, age 84. They are the parents of the following children:

"Fannie C. Coleman, born May 11, 1880 in Red Bank Township, Armstrong County , Pa. Died Feb. 10, 1969, aged 89 years. Buried in Grandview Cemetery, Johnstown, Pa. Fannie was a Registered Nurse in Pa. a graduate of Bryn Mawr Hospital.

"Tillie Agnes Coleman, born in Ringgold Township, Jefferson County, Pa. Dec. 3, 1882. Died October 19, 1967, in Wilkinsburg, Pa. aged 84. Married to Rev. Charles G. White. Had three children Gail, Ruth, and Gerald.

"Boyd E .Coleman, Sr., born in Red Bank Township, Armstrong County, June 7, 1887. Married to Erma Saylor, October 17, 1918. Have a son, Boyd E. Coleman, Jr., born July 21,1925. Boyd E. Coleman, Sr. was a Minister, licenses by the Pittsburgh Conference of the United Evangelical Church, in Sept. 1910. Retired by the Annual Conference of the Evangelical United Brethren Church in May 1959. He was a graduate of Albright College, and the New York Theological Seminary, 1918.

"Charles Ernest Coleman, born in Horton Township, Elk County , Pa., April 5, 1890. Died in 1891 at DuBois, Pa. on Dec. 27th.

"Fred D. Coleman, born in Clearfield County, Pa , April 8, 1873, married to Erma E. Hassler, Breinigsville, Pa. Sept. 20, 1917. Killed in action First World War, in France October 11, 1918."

NOTE: Solomon Coleman, d. 11 Nov. 1919, aged 90 yr. 9 mo. 2 da. His first wife, Lavina (Shaffer) b. 24 Dec. 1835, died 19 Sept. 1858 daughter of John Shaffer, Jr. and Elizabeth (Imhoff). This line is of JOHN SHAFFER, SR. and Margaret Elisabeth (Schneider) natives of Northumberland and Schuylkill Co. areas and not our line of Shaffer's.

Solomon Coleman's 2nd wife - Lusetta (Minich) died 15 June 1894, aged 52 yrs. (the Coleman's all buried at North Freedom Reformed Cemetery, North Freedom, Pa.).
