Retired town of Vilas farmer, Frank A. Zaitz, 72, of Route 2, Gleason, died Saturday at home of an apparent heart attack.

Born on Dec. 18, 1906 in Leadville, Colo., he was the son of the late Mrs. and Mrs. Joseph Zaitz. He moved to the town of Vilas as a child with his parents. Mr. Zaitz farmed there and was employed by Antigo Co-op Milk Plant. He retired in 1970.

Mr. Zaitz married Mary LeBon on Aug. 12, 1930 in Antigo. She preceded him in death on Sept. 2, 1976. He was a member of St. Wencel Catholic Church, Neva Corners, and a member of both Z. C. B. J. Lodge 277 and Teamster Union Local 446.

Surviving him are two daughters, Mrs. John (Mary Ann) Matuszewski, Milwaukee, Mrs. Vernon (Beverly) Fleischman, Route 2, Gleason; two sons, Frank Jr., Milwaukee, Ronald, Merrill; two brothers, John, Route 3, Gleason, Joseph, Rochelle, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Louis (Mary) Chadek, Pelican Lake, Mrs. Charles (Helen) Malish, Deerbrook; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Two brothers, one sister, and one grandchild preceded him in death.
