Mrs. Joseph Zaitz, 77, of 302 Second avenue, died at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Langlade County Memorial hospital.


She was born Helena Vidmar July 22, 1881, in Austria and came to this country in her youth. She was married Oct. 15, 1899, at Leadville, Colo., to Joseph Zaitz who survives. The couple operated a farm in the town of Vilas from 1917 until 1946.


Mrs. Zaitz was a member of St. John's Catholic church.


Surviving besides her husband are three daughters, Mrs. Louise (Mary) Chadek of Antigo, Mrs. Charles (Helen) Malish of Deerbrook and Rose Zaitz, Fresno, Calif.; four sons, Frank Zaitz and Albert Zaitz of the town of Vilas, and John Zaitz of Antigo and Joseph Zaitz of Milwaukee; a brother, George Vidmar (24989854)

of Cleveland, O.; 20 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by five children in infancy and a son, Rudolph, died Dec. 6, 1954. A sister and brother also preceded her in death.
