Veteran Meat Merchant Dies
Lloyd B. Balliet, veteran Milton butcher, of Apple Street, died last night in the Geisinger hospital where he underwent an operation yesterday morning. He had been in ill heath for the past six months.
For many years Mr. Balliet conducted a meat market on South Front Street and Mahoning Street. He retired in 1921, after having followed the business for a period of 28 years. He was aged 59 years.
Surviving are his wife and the following sons and daughter: William Balliet, of Muncy; Ralph Balliet, of Riverside; Clearence Balliet, of Treverton and Mrs. Byron Yeager, of Watsontown R.D. Tweleve grandchildren and a step-son, Donald Metzger, also survive, in addition to the following brothers and sisters: W.O. Balliet, of Watsontown; Mrs. A.C. Mincemoyer, of Watsontown; John Balliet, of Milton; Mrs. Harry T. Ritter, of Locust Street; George Balliet, of Watsontown and Mrs. Amanda Smith, of Turbotville.
Funeral service will be held at the home on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be made at Harmony Cemetery.
