D.E. WIDDERSHEIM, 76, DIES IN MONTICELLO

D. E. Widdersheim, 76, died at 6:15 a.m. Saturday at his home here after an illness of several months. Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Mackey funeral home. Doctor A. C. Preston of the Presbyterian church officiated and burial was in Monticello cemetery.
Ed "Babe" Widdersheim was born November 24, 1871, in Piatt county, son of Peter and Charlotte Widdersheim. He was married July 4, 1894 to Molly Hemphill, who died December 23, 1931. He was employed several years as a gas and electric salesman in Milwaukee, Wis. until suffering a stroke in 1943 and returning to Monticello.
Surviving are a brother, Thomas of Monticello, and four sisters, Mrs. Margaret Thorpe, Mrs. Fenton Miner and Mrs. J. W. Keller, all of Monticello, and Mrs. Nellie Whitehead of Decatur.
