Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Amarillo Bible Church with the Rev. Bob Burns, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St.
Mrs. Daugherty was born Nov. 5, 1921, in Childress to Elmer and Ethel Cantrell. She moved to Amarillo shortly after graduating from Childress High School. In 1992, she moved to Longview and returned to Amarillo in 2005.
Irene was a devoted Christian and had a passion for serving the Lord. She was very active in the Gideon Auxiliary. She was a devoted prayer warrior. Mrs. Daugherty made five trips to the Holy Land. She traveled and spoke with the Christian Women's Club and shared evangelistic messages and gave slide lectures on her trips to the Holy Land.
She was a longtime member of the Amarillo Bible Church.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Terry Smith in 2003 and Dan Smith in 2007.
Survivors include her husband, Robert E. "Bob" Daugherty of Amarillo; six grandchildren, Holly Lyon and husband Jon of Dallas, Gary Smith and wife Lisa of Amarillo, Jay Smith and wife Carol of Austin, Kent Smith and wife Michelle of Angel Fire, N.M., and Jennie Nulik and husband Zak and Katie Smith, all of Enid, Okla.; two daughters-in-law, Anne Smith of Amarillo and Susan Smith of Enid.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to Gideon's International, P.O. Box 2304, Amarillo, TX 79105.
