That joyous ringing laughter is Vivian enjoying life to its fullest with her beloved husband, Belmont. Vivian left us on November 21, 2009, but her indomitable spirit remains with Belmont and her children Bill, Laurie, Jolynn, Greg, and Jeff. She resided at 2746 East Apple Blossom Lane (4600 South) in Holladay, Utah at the time of her death.

Vivian was born October 23, 1926 in Sparks, Nevada to her dear parents William and Phenie Schipper. From the beginning her great energy and natural talents were evident.

When she graduated from Sparks High School, Highland School of Nursing, and Brigham Young University it was with high honors. Her great abilities were obvious when she taught nursing arts at Highland and BYU.

Vivian loved BYU and enjoyed being Student Body Vice President, those days were also important because she met Belmont there and they have been a tremendous team for good in all things.

She was one of five girls who were proud of their Dutch heritage. She was the fun sister who kept the Schipper Sisters laughing, they were a close knit family.

In Vivian's happy marriage, along with her family responsibilities, she found time to be actively involved with many political, moral, and medical issues and her efforts blessed many.

In her membership of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, there was no area where she did not serve the Lord, including serving with Belmont in the San Diego Mission.

Vivian will be greeted by many who bless her for the tireless, efficient and wonderful work she did on the Schipper-VanDyke genealogy.

Everyone was Vivian's friend and she loved everyone. Her happy attitude and infectious laughter spread joy. In good and hard times she was a strength.

Belmont and each child are powerful examples of her great love for them, and they saw her exemplify the Lord's design for motherhood.

Each of her children and grandchildren have remained spiritually attuned, and achieved the heights she wanted for them. They are her pride and joy.

Vivian and Belmont are deeply devoted to each other, and their marriage of sixty years has been filled with sharing joy, love, and laughter, along with the added pleasures from their children.

She leaves her beloved husband, Belmont. To her he was the ultimate companion, loving, kind, understanding, always his main thought was caring for her, his sweet Vivian.

Her sweet children are Belmont W. (Kathy Baugh), Laurie A. (Alan) Ralphs, Jolynn M. Anderson, Gregory S. (Raylene Riggs), Jeffrey Jordan (Susan Gasser); thirty grandchildren; and twenty-nine great-grandchildren.

Celebrate Vivian's life with us at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at the Holladay Tenth Ward Chapel, 4601 South Chapel Street (2565 East). A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 24, 2009 at Holladay Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 South Highland Drive, as well as one hour prior to the services at the church.
