Abingdon - Alma Danner, 87, of Abingdon died at 5:40 p.m. Sunday, June 11, 1995, at Marigold Health Care Center in Galesburg.
Born Oct. 28, 1907, near Prairie City to John and Matilda Merrill Forshee, she married Raymond Carpenter. He died in 1939. She married Leo Danner on Nov. 6, 1948, in Abingdon. He survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Pauline Shinn of Abingdon; one stepdaughter, Barbara Harn of Bushnell; 19 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, James Carpenter, one daughter, Ramona Carpenter, two stepdaughters, one stepson, three grandsons, one great-granddaughter, two sisters, two brothers and two great-great-grandchildren.
She grew up in Prairie City before moving to Wisconsin. She was an Abingdon resident since 1947. She worked at the former Fey's Cafe in Abingdon.
She was a member of Assembly of God Church in Abingdon.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery.
