ROXIE T. "WATSON" HARRIS

Roxie T. Harris, was born, in Hilham, Overton Co., Tn.; to George Dallas and Martha Emaline Dailey Harris.

Roxie T. Harris, 16, was born November 21, 1901, in Hilham, Overton, Co., Tennessee.

Roxie and her family, had decided to leave Tennessee, and move to the newly settled , Indian Territory, especially for the land runs. They settled in, Yeager,Ok., this was still considered, Indian territory, as Oklahoma had not become a state. They did not arrive ther until, 1902, that is where, three more siblings where born, Joseph Sylvester, Alva Benton and Leslie Dallas Harris, were born. Then in 1907, the year that my father was born,Oklahoma, became a state.
Then in the year, 1917, Roxie and her Older Sister, Dora, both became Ill, with high fever, from Typhoid, Roxie , died on November 1, 1917, in Yeager, Ok. Then Dora, herself fell Ill, with the fever,then died November 10, 1917.
Burial, for Roxie was in the , Yeager Oakhill Cemetery, and then Dora, was buried beside her.
Location of their, headstones, are near the front entrance of the cemetery.
