Viola L. Capper
CONCORDIA - Viola L. Capper, 82, Concordia, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 1994, at St. Joseph Hospital, Concordia. Mrs. Capper was born Viola L. Ming on Sept. 20, 1911, at Sulphur Springs. She taught in Como for a year, worked as a nurse's aide, and was a dietary nurse with Sunset Nursing Home, Concordia. She farmed for many years with her husband in Cloud County. She was a member of the Baptist Church, Concordia, the Ames Improvement Club and the Extension Homemakers Unit. She was a former member of the United Brethren Church, Sulphur Springs.
Her husband, Orville F., died Feb. 18, 1993; and she was preceded in death by a son, Raymond. Survivors include a son, Ken of Ames; four sisters, Anna Walker of Minneapolis, Mary Johnson of Belleville, Bessie Walker of Concordia and Elma Koerber of Aurora; a brother, Clarence Ming of Miltonvale; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Chapel, Concordia, the Rev. James Autrey officiating. Burial will be in Sulphur Springs Cemetery, Aurora.
Memorials may be made to the St. Joseph Hospital Skilled Care Unit or the Sunset Nursing Center.
Visitation will be after 1 p.m. today at the funeral home, 325 W. Sixth, P.O. Box 606, Concordia, 66901.
