Amos D. Coe was 92 years old on Wednesday of this week. He is remarkably smart for one of that age. He reads the daily papers, keeps pasted on topics of the day, attends to his business matters, enjoys auto rides and is the champion story teller of the town. This date was also Mrs. Coe's birthday anniversary and she was 60.

Amos D. Coe, a resident of this town nearly 60 years, died Tuesday morning, about nine o'clock, after a brief illness at his home in this village. Sunday morning about 4 o'clock he awakened the family remarking, "I guess the jig is up", and dropped off in an unconscious condition and remained so up to the time of his death. He had been in his usual good health and the day previous to his attack he and his wife with their chauffeur autoed to Hemlock lake to attend the field day exercises, returning home toward night apparently in good spirits, visiting one or two of the business places in the evening. Heart failure was the immediate cause of his death. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John C. Coe and was born in the town of Livonia, June 4, 1821, and was therefore 92 years of age, June 4, last. For many years he was engaged in the mercantile business in this village. He represented the town on the Board of Supervisors for two or three terms and held minor offices in the town. Politically he was a strong advocate of Republicanism and many years took an active part in politics. His first wife was Miss Jane Jerome. Unto them four daughters and one son were born, all of whom are dead. His second wife, who survives him, was Mrs. Lizzie Brown White. At this writing the time of the funeral has not been fixed.

The sensational $10,000 breach of promise suit of Jane Doe against Richard Roe will come to trial at Conesus Tuesday night, the Hon. Amos Dixon Coe presiding.

[Notation: "Jane Doe" is listed correctly in the article, she was not Jane Roe. This was a breach of promise suit, not a divorce case.]
