Ralph Mortimore was born in Howard county, Iowa, April 10, 1856 and had reached the age of 61 years 7 months and 10 days. He came to Fremont county in 1868. He married Ella Brewer in 1878-and to this, union three children were born, who are Jas. R. and Wm. Arthur of this place and Charles H. of Nebraska. On April 17, 1892 he was married to Bliss Margaret A. Simpson of Columbus, Neb., and to this union seven children were born, six of whom, with their mother, survive.
Of his father's family, one sister, Mrs. Emily Basset of Tusskego, la., and two brothers, J. A. of this place and Benjamin A. of Blue Springs, Neb., are left.
The funeral services were held at Mt. Zion Thursday, conducted by Rev. M. F. Brower.
