Daniel J. Chudej, age 57, of 406 North Harrison in West, passed away early Thursday afternoon, December 6, 1990, at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco.

A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel by Msgr. George Doskocil. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Mr. Chudej was born January 15, 1933, in Ross, the son of John and Marie Chudej. He married Reba L. Barfield on January 18, 1954, in West. He was a welder for most of his life and served in the Army National Guard in the early 1950s. He was an avid fisherman.

Mr. Chudej was a member of the KI.J.T. Society No. 31 in West and also a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. He was preceded in death by a son, Charlie Chudej, who died October 6, 1990.

He is survived by his wife, Reba Chudej of West; his mother, Marie Chudej of West; two sons, Walter Chudej of Waco and Kevin Lee Chudej of Gatesville; two daughters, Carolyn Hill of Ross and Kimberly Arjon of Gholson; one sister, Darlene Krause of Tocoma, Washington; and eleven grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Edwin Nors, Thomas Nors, Bob Nors, Albin Petter, Jr., Edward Chudej and Johnny Chudej.

Aderhold Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
