William Frank Gideon was born April 13, 1850; died December 19, 1948, at the age of 98 years, 8 months and 6 days. He painted of the Frisco Railroad in 1887 and 1888. He was a member of the Christian Church. On July 4, 1878, he married Anna H. Wiley in Belmont Co., Oh. They had eight children, three of whom died in infancy. In 1886, they moved to Mo., where a son Edward Lee died, and a new baby was born and died. They went to Kansas in 1888 and lived at St. Clere, Kansas until Annie Gideon passed away, June 24, 1897 of tuberculosis. He left Kansas, September 2, 1898 and went back to Ohio where he married his second wife, Annie Ridgeway in October 1902. She died December 20, 1926 in Ohio. In the late years of his life William Frank made his home with his oldest son, George Tracy Gideon in Moundsville, W. Va. He died December 19, 1948 at home in his sleep.
