On Friday night, October 23, the Grim Reaper Death, invaded the home of James Edwin Dasher*, and took his spirit to the Great Beyond.
He was born October 5, 1874. He was in his fifty second year at the time of his death.
His life was an example for others exemplifying the beauty of a Christian life. He was ever kind and gentle, always lovable in disposition; ever ready to lend a helping hand wherever it was most needed. He was a kind husband, an indulgent father, a loyal friend, and a generous neighbor.
His wife who was Miss Fannie Kicklighter, preceded him in death April 22, 1918, leaving the responsibility of both mother and father in the rearing of his children which task he carried out well.
He leaves to mourn his death one brother, Basil Dasher of Daisy; four sisters, Mrs. E. J. Knight, Wauchula, Florida; Mrs. S. S. Martin, Odum; Mrs. Henry Kicklighter and Mrs. Bessie Woodcock, both of Glennville; eight sons, and four daughters, Mrs. O. E. Jones, Reidsville; Mrs. F. M. Jordan, Reidsville; Misses Ruth and Lennie Dasher of Glennville; Marcus L. and Grady W., of Reidsville; Joe, Dan, Arthur, Walter, Curtis, and Thad, all of Glennville.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock by Elder Dewey Todd.
The pall bearers were: Jeff Kirkland, James Poppell, E. H. Bacon, H. A. Williams, B. G. Rogers, and J. L. Rogers. Interment took place immediately afterwards in Beards Creek cemetery under supervision of C. M. Stanfield, undertaker.

Husband of Fannie Kicklighter. James was a son of Zachariah Jesse Dasher, b. 02 Oct 1827; d. Jan 1887, and Caroline M. Smith, b. 15 Nov 1831; d. 04 May 1885.
James appeared with his parents and siblings in the 1880 Census (taken 02-03 Jun 1880) for District 1132 in Liberty Co., GA as a son age 5. So he would turn 6 in October.

James Edwin "Jimmy" Dasher, settled east of Glennville on present-day Dasher Road in the late 1800s. He married Fannie Kicklighter, daughter of Confederate veteran Frederick Kicklighter, and reared twelve children, from whom most of the Glennville Dashers descend. They were: Mark, Grady, Carrie, Joe, Annie, Dan, Arthur, Ruth, Lennie, Walter, Curtis, and Thad.
