Charles was a business man in Middletown. Charles was one to stay up with modern technologies as they came on the market, the telephone he once purchased a phonograph the first in that area and it was played and displayed by Charles for all to see and hear.
Another cost him his life, his automobile, as he collapsed on the morning of October 30, 1928 while cranking it, and died of a heart attack .
Charles was the father of the following children, one son, Ira Daniel Ifert and wife Zorah Virginia, Virginia "Vernie" Estelle Cord and husband Charles of Denver, Col., Lucy Luella Koogle and husband James, Naomi Florence and husband Lysle Herbert, Martha Ellen Douglas and husband Paul Hay, and Leah Irene Winters and husband Jacob Leroy. Charles was predeceased by two sons, Charles Henry and Simon Abraham Ifert and one daughter, Estie Catherine Ifert.
Charles was the oldest of the Ifert, children, and was a brother to these siblings, Daniel C., Clara E., Sarah C. Daisy I., William and Mary C. Ifert.
