Doris Vern Love was the daughter of Drue Miller Love and Minnie Ann Taylor Love.

Doris married Falvey Todd Bobbitt on December 31, 1928.

They had one son, Donald Jake "Donnie" Bobbitt. Donnie died very young of polio. Doris and Falvey adopted a daughter, Barry Jean, after the death of their son, Donnie.

Doris, Falvey and Donnie Bobbitt are all buried in the Oakwood Cemetery, San Jacinto County, Texas. Barrie Jean Bobbitt Reich, their daughter (1943-2018), is
buried in Eastlawn Memorial Cemetery, Early, Brown County, Texas.
